College-Educated Blacks Moving to Orlando

An exodus of buppies from the North and Midwest has boosted Orlando into the 4th most popular destination for blacks -- who are returning to the South in large numbers -- while causing a brain drain from other states. About 40% of blacks moving to Florida are settling in Orlando. Blacks are attracted to Orlando's climate, job opportunities, schools, relatively low crime rate, and the growing network of black professionals.
