More than 1 million black Americans served in World War II, and William Smith has made it his personal mission to ensure that our stories are captured. Smith wrote, produced and paid for the documentary "The Invisible Soldiers: Unheard Voices." It won the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Documentary Film Award.
