The Citizens Debate Commission argues that other voices like independent Ralph Nader would shake up this year's debate and expand voter choice. We believe that if someone can get on at least 75% of the state ballots, then he or she should be included in debates. Right now, it's a Catch-22. The minor parties can't get media coverage or debate access so they lack good poll numbers. Because they don't have good poll numbers, they can't get media coverage or debate access. It would enliven our republic, but no way the Dems and GOP agree to include party crashers.
