Eddie Williams, president of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies for 32 years, will step down in December. He has built a think tank that is the world go-to place for anyone who has questions about issues related to black Americans, and pioneered polling of our opinions. Under his leadership, JCPES has grown from 7 staffers and a $400,000 annual budget, to 43 employees, an annual budget of $6 million and an endowment of $6 million+. Many of the stats you see on this website's left margins are from JCPES.
