ROBERT KLEIN ENGLER COMMENTARY: Illegal Immigration and Black America

Mr. Engler argues that illegal immigration mainly comes at black Americans' expense: in the employment arena, being forced out of communities, resources for public schools, etc. As a result, he claims, the Democratic Party's support of blanket amnesty sells out black folks.

While we support legal immigration up to a certain level, we gotta agree with Mr. Engler. The government keeps bestowing rights to illegals that black folks -- who've been in USA for almost 400 years -- had to fight extremely hard to get, rights that should first go to citizens (regardless of race). There's now even talk of allowing illegals to vote in local elections! Black folks have seen this unfold before -- remember the black employment bans, when European immigrants came to these shores? What amazes us is that more black folks ain't crying foul about the misuse of our tax dollars to prop up illegals (mainly why California is in its current fiscal situation) and why so many black "leaders" are complicit in this mess. 24% of our folks are poor and yet the CBC and the Democratic Party fervently support importing more poor folks whose first act on U.S. soil was to break the law, driving down wages in the process. Yes, Republicans do too but (1) 92% of black folks don't vote GOP and (2) they support the issue much less.
