Ah, pouring more hard-earned taxpayers' dollars into a Third World hellhole and watch government leaders get fat on corruption. The funds will help restore electricity, police force, judicial system, as well as a budget deficit inherited from Jean-Bertrand Aristide and prepare for 2005 elections. We must dispute the State Department quote about "returning full democracy to Haiti, returning the government to the people through elections." Isn't that what Haiti had, however imperfect? No love for Mr. Aristide, but it was for Haitians to decide if he would exit.
