Audio (National Public Radio)
NPR speaks with a 79-year old black veteran of the D-Day invasion as he prepares to join in the commemoration of the 60th anniversary in France. Joining veteran Bill Danbey is photographer and filmmaker Samuel LeBon Wooten, a French-born black who is producing a film on black American involvement in the attack. Just in time for this Sunday's 60th anniversary, he's returning to Normandy with Mr. Danbey and several other black vets.
