Radio Host: "Condi Rice is an Aunt Jemima"

Imani and Tyrone, white liberals are at it again. A Madison, Wisconsin radio talk show host is under fire after calling Condoleezza Rice an "Aunt Jemima" and saying that she isn't competent to be secretary of state. John Sylvester says he used the term to describe Rice and other blacks as subservient in the Bush administration. He also referred to Colin Powell, the outgoing secretary of state, as an "Uncle Tom." Sylvester says he will give away Aunt Jemima pancake mix and syrup on today's show. "I will apologize to Aunt Jemima," he said.

It's one thing for black folks to banter these terms. Folks of any race can vociferously debate whether a public figure is competent. But what in hell gives a white person the right to be the arbiter of black authenticity and use racial slurs?!?! How arrogant, how racist. Madison's mayor and Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) condemn the remarks. The NAACP's Madison branch says it can't comment on Sylvester's remarks until it hears them in its entirety. Of course, the NAACP is missing in action. However, the local Urban League is on the case.
