MAHNDISA RIGMAIDEN OP-ED: Pot Wars And The Call To Action!

The California moderate-conservative blogger discusses controversy over medicinal marijuana: "The City Officials in my town have been harassing the local medical marijuana club and it bothers me. The club has generated sales tax revenue for our broke county and provides a commodity to those who can utilize it, upon the recommendation of a doctor. This is not to say that some folks don’t abuse marijuana, but more to say that not all users are abusers. Scientific evidence has shown that marijuana has real pain relieving qualities and some affect on mental health. For those with chronic pain syndromes such as Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis, it has been shown that marijuana & opiate therapy reduce ones' need for opiates, thereby increasing one's overall functionality. Before you question the above statement, think of this: Do you trust research from a place under marijuana prohibition where the government doesn’t really allow full exploratory research? Or do you trust research that has been conducted where marijuana has been decriminalized and total exploration is encouraged by the government and the free markets to come up with natural pain and even psychiatric medications?"

I believe drugs should be legalized in general (for adults), and let folks reap the consequences of their actions. And medicinal marijuana ain't hurting anyone.
