Quote Of The Day

"After reading a lot of Educrat literature lately, I am thoroughly convinced that there should be a FEDERALLY MANDATED corporal punishment for naughty children! You know, there comes a time when enough is enough. You cannot reason with defiance and you cannot lose ground either. Some of these children will not learn unless they are forced to do so. In almost every instance that I have dealt with a defiant child, it is because the parent enables that behavior. Parents are afraid to parent their kids nowadays. They make excuses for their child like, 'Oh he has ADD; he really can't focus or sit still for that long' AND that is an enabling excuse for the child to act badly. I suppose what bothers me the most about these naughty children is that the Educrat literature seems to blame parents trying to instill DISCIPLINE in their children as a cause for a child's defiance. I also see that many of these stupid leftists think that corporal punishment is abusive and leads to sexual disorders. OK, once again the small liberal mind cannot comprehend anything unless one uses terms like sex and abuse! Geesh! I suppose that is why I don't belong in San Francisco or much of the Bay Area. I am too conservative when it comes to raising children. I am from the Old School I guess because respect was always important. Nowadays, they tell teachers not to go off of respect but rather a negotiation style where they pal up to the kids. What a bad idea! In life, nothing is really egalitarian. We work and have bosses. If a child is constantly coddled and negotiated with (basically bribed) to do his work, he will grow up to be a pans[y] loser." — Mahndisa Rigmaiden, moderate-conservative blogger, on education in the United States
