Argues the Niles Daily Star (Michigan), in a great editorial about the late college football coach Eddie Robinson (pictured center): "America lost a great man late on Tuesday when the former Grambling football coach Eddie Robinson died. Robinson, who at one time was the winningest coach in college football, left behind a legacy that, transcended the game he loved so much. Robinson was more than a great football coach. He was a great human being, that cared so much for his players and the school he and they represented. Eddie Robinson was to football what Jackie Robinson was to baseball. He broke down many color barriers on his way to greatness. His desire to teach young black men more than just the game itself is what he will be remembered for the most. He taught them to be men. He taught them to be tough and to be accountable for their actions. He taught them life's lessons that completely changed their futures. Eddie Robinson was a man that most all of us would like to be. A man of great caring and desire. A man of great conviction, who knew he could change a young man's life. He was a man of honesty and integrity and he was a man who showed great humility. The fact of the matter is, if there were more Eddie Robinsons in this world, it would be a much better place."
