A somewhat racy new music video making the rounds on YouTube casts Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) not only as the man to solve the nation's woes, but as an object of young lust. (hat tip: The Moderate Voice).
The hip hop soul song was written by Leah Kauffman, a student at Temple University, and ad executive Ben Relles. "I've Got A Crush....On Obama" features Ms. Kauffman singing about how the presidential candidate's universal health care policy has redirected her attention away from her longing for Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic nominee in the 2004 presidential election. "So I put down my Kerry sign, knew I had to make you mine. Smart, black and sexy you're so fine, 'cause I got a crush on Obama," is one verse.
However, that is not Ms. Kauffman in the video. The woman featured in the video is Amber Lee Ettinger, an actress and model who lip synches the tune in a variety of skimpy outfits at various New York City City venues and stands besides cardboard cutouts of Sen. Barack Obama.
Sen. Barack Obama's campaign said that they had nothing to do with the video, which comes just as rival Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign is fielding entries for a song contest.
