I also admit to not reading either magazine largely because I do not believe that either publication has [black women's] best interest at heart. They put P. Diddy and Kim Porter on the cover of Essence didn’t they! Ebony almost put 'baby daddy' Ludacris on the cover of their Father’s Day edition. Really! These publications obviously represent only one perspective of the BW’s experience so let's demand that they at least fairly examine another perspective. I would support such an edition and would pay newsstand prices to purchase it (and one for every single BW I know). I know it’s a long shot and all HELL will break loose when and if it should happen, but I think making your voice heard is just as important. If you don’t at least try than no it won’t ever happen. When you say nothing than nothing changes, and that’s for sure. Look at the changes [that blogs like] What About Our Daughters, Black Female Interracial Marriage, and Date a White Guy have been able to [e]ffect. So be willing to say something. If these publications are going to be labeled as the face of BW in America than they should accurately represent that face. It doesn’t necessarilly have to be a celebrity - baby steps people - but I would like to see a fair portrayal of IR between BW and WM that doesn’t result in the conclusion that these types of relationships are too taxing for BW, BM should always be a BW's first choice, biracial children suffer emotionally and mentally, or some variation of that theme." — Zabeth's Corner, black conservative blog, urging black women to write to Essence to put white men on its cover as it does with black men
