Here is the transcript. Bill Cosby and Alvin Poussaint are promoting their new book, Come On, People: On The Path From Victims To Victors, which was released last week. The liberal comedian and liberal psychology professor tackle issues such as the plight of the black family, black on black violence, high school dropout rates, the need for parental responsibility and more.
Mr. Cosby stated during his interview with host Tim Russert on "Meet The Press": "I cannot fully tell you how disappointing it is to hear philosophies come from people—and the only way I can describe it is a friend of mine who says people—some people are, are, are acting with abnormal behavior, trying to make it normal, and that’s insane. And that’s, that’s what he said. I hear things coming out of the mouths of babes, things that they believe—example, and what—one of the most old-fashioned things. Kid us studying, and so they say to the kid, 'You’re acting white,' which is a put-down to make this kid stop studying. Well, let’s examine this. If you’re black and you say to me, because you see me studying, 'You’re acting white,' what is it you’re saying about black people? You see, these are things that have to be discussed with, with—and nobody—people aren’t coming up enough to challenge these statements, to, to, to do character corrections on these things."
My response: I have not picked up this book yet, but I like the title. Both Mr. Cosby and Mr. Pouissant make great points in the transcript. I should also note that Mr. Cosby has a website called The COS Communities. Despite Mr. Cosby's personal life flaws, the philanthropist is mostly on the mark regarding challenges facing black communities. Get ready for another round of folks who will attack Mr. Cosby for not pinning most of Black America's challenges on racism. Most liberal, black elites must stop their white obsessiveness and start worrying a lot more about what black folks think. We've got work to do. Unfortunately, too many within our communities ain't pulling their weight and their self-destructive activities and destruction within our communities are dragging down black potential. Such family talk is true love. Now, if I can get my hands on a video clip...

Socrates asks:
1) Why do young Black American men, (teens and early 20's) commit crimes that they know will most likey send them to prison for such long periods of time in such large and disproportionate numbers compared to other ethnicities in the U.S.?
2) Why do young B.A.M. choose to join gangs which they know will most likely cause them to spend a large time in prison?
3) Why do young Black American females (teens and early twenties) choose to have babies without first obtaining a marital commitment from someone who is likely to remain out of prison?
