Freedom Democrats, a blog for libertarian Democrats, adds its two cents: "Obama's solid first place finish should help push him ahead in New Hampshire. Last night he attracted a combination of young voters, Independents, and even some Republicans to win the Iowa Caucus. A high 41% among Independents, who made up 20% of the caucus. A similar 41% among those who were attending the caucus for the first time, a 57% majority of attendees. And a dominating 57% among ages 17 to 29! Check out Edwards, who was third behind both Clinton and Obama among members of a union household. Not only did Obama win Iowa, he won it by a margin greater than anyone predicted, one possible sign that the polls were underestimating the impact of Independents and first time caucus attendees. As we go into New Hampshire, I wouldn't be surprised if Obama again out-performs expectations."
More: "My disappointment with Ron Paul is how he came within 4,000 or so votes away from placing third. McCain and Thompson instead beat him out for a virtual third place tie. Interestingly, Ron Paul won among Independents with 29%, ahead of McCain's 23%. I still think Ron Paul can do well in New Hampshire, but the Revolution has already faltered at the start."
