John Kay: "GOP Blogs In Conspiracy Mode"

The moderate-liberal Democratic blogger, on Republican bloggers' reaction to a possible President Obama: "GOP blogs are sounding like Clinton-era conservative online posters, or like too many Dems in '00 and '04. Remember, in democracy, we take turns, and it's our turn now. We're ahead in the polls by the old-fashioned way of having a better candidate with better strategery, who hasn't been concentrating on places he has no hope, and has changed positions alot [sic] less, and has been alot [sic] calmer about the crises during the campaign. The thugs involved are 99.9% in rightie minds, unless you think voters and Obama organizers are thugs. Yes, like the McCain campaign, we have our minority of overenthusiasts, too."

He continues his commentary: "The fact of the matter, contra propaganda, is that Obama has said he wants to grow our military, not shrink it, though certainly some defense contractors who've relied on GOP unskepticalness may be unhappy (though, Murtha'll still prolly be around, sigh). The socialism FACTS are that we both like big gummints equally. If anything, our version is a tad cheaper because our version of patronage involves post offices instead of B-2 bombers. The difference is that we pay our socialistic credit cards, and your Presidents haven't since Nixon came into office in '68. And, you generally spend more time in charge of the White House, while we generally spend more time in charge of Congress, so you do better on the Obama part of the deal. Still, an election cycle headed by somebody not up to the job is hard, as it was on us in '04, so I will reiterate my sympathy for what looks likely to be a hard Tuesday for you guys."
