Did anyone catch the Barbara Walters interview on ABC last night?
Where were the tough questions that Barbara Walters claimed were gonna be asked in the interview? While not as softball as I expected from Ms. Walters (my expectations were low), I could've asked harder questions that she did during the interview. She was obviously enamored with the Obamas too.
I see that President-Elect Barack Obama realizes that he faces very high expectations from his supporters who basically expect him to walk on water, which he tried to dampen during the interview ("I am not a miracle worker"). I also agreed with him regarding the corporate execs who took private jets to argue for the bailout and that they should forgo their bonuses and also sacrifice if they lay off workers. However, I strongly disagree with President-Elect Obama that the auto industry or any other industry should get a bailout.
My favorite part of the interview was when Michelle Obama joined him. I liked Mrs. Obama's response to some (white) feminists' criticism that she is focusing "too much" on being Mom-in-Chief. I see the girls will have chores to do at the White House, which is good too. I thought the exchange about the the First Dog selection - Barack Obama will not stand for a "little, yappy" dog as it's "girly" - was funny. By the way, President-Elect Obama, it is the Emancipation Proclamation and not the Gettysburg Address that's in the Lincoln Bedroom. I did the side-eye on that one.

Hello there!
I saw the interview...it was an entertaining segment when Michelle stepped into the conversation.
I have to say though, her manners are AWFUL...she continued to talk over her husband and that is so disrespectful! If she does it on camera then she does it incessantly off camera.
It is RUDE, rude, rude!
I am not sure why Michelle felt it was necessasry to point out that the girls needed to do chores...we had a full-time maid when I was a child and I don't think children NEED to do any work around the house at all in order to be taught responsibility.
I can see the need to have children pick up their own clothes and toys but to make beds and do chores....please...why is it that some black people THINK black children are mini-house slaves?
Maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration but still....
As for the comment about a little yappy dog...I agree with Barack....those little girly dogs are annoying.
I think he ought to get a little dog for the girls since they are still young and he should get a Rot that he can play frisbee with on the lawn and have fun with. He needs his own dog.
