Rama Yade: France's Top Woman

Elle magazine has named the outspoken French Secretary of State for Human Rights as the woman who most exemplies its Time Of The Woman ethic (article in French). In case you're wondering, British actress Kate Winslet came second on Elle's list. Ingrid Betancourt, the Colombian-French politician who was kidnapped by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia in 2002 and rescued by Colombian security forces last year, rounds out the list.

The Senegalese-born moderate-conservative diplomat remains France's most popular political figure, maintaining the top spot in Ipsos-Le Point's monthly poll
(article in French). The 32-year-old politico has a 58% approval rating, while two points less than the previous month. Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoƫ was second (56% approval). French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner -Secretary Yade's boss - who at one time had the top spot, is third with 54% approval.
