News Tidbits

California Supreme Court Upholds Gay Marriage Ban: It upholds Proposition 8, which the state's voters approved last November. As I've said many times, the government has no business telling non-related consenting adults about how their marriage arrangements should look.

You've Gotta Be Kidding Me: Burris Still A 2010 Wild Card? Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) has woeful poll numbers, paltry fundraising and mounting competition for his appointed Senate seat vacated by his predecessor, President Barack Obama. The cloud of Rod Blagojevich still hovers above him, as the former Illinois governor’s corruption trial is set to begin soon. Today, a federal judged said the Senate Ethics Committee can listen to a conversation between Sen. Burris and Blagojevich’s brother. Yet Burris says he’s still considering running in 2010.

As an Illinois voter who has voted for Sen. Burris in the past...he stands no chance.

If The Allegations Are True, I Hope It Was Worth It: Shaking my head regarding these young women, who should've known better (I'm giving the side-eye to NewsOne for basically calling them victims, as if they made no choices to allegedly act in such a manner).

Segregated Proms In The South: Yes, these Mississippi white parents mentioned in this piece are racist. Last year, Morgan Freeman even offered to underwrite an integrated prom...and they turned it down. Yet these proms are private events. My question: why are black folks seeking validation from these racists, begging to mingle with them? Have some dignity, my people.

MIA: The Democrats’ “Culture Of Corruption” Meme: Probably because there are three times as many Congressional Democrats under investigation than Republican ones.
