Constructive Feedback, a conservative, blogs about Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West, who was arrested on Thursday after cops pulled him over for speeding on a motorcycle while carrying two handguns and a shotgun in a guitar case: "Another brother nabbed in an unconstitutional infringement upon his rights. What may be 'illegal' in the progressive state of Maryland speaks nothing to the constitutionality of such a law. There is no need for me to detail the long history of unconstitutional statutes among the states. The key difference - with the 2nd Amendment there is a bit of complicity among various parties in government to deny this constitutional right to bear arms. If Mr West had been fleeing an armed robbery my views would be vastly different."
Booker Rising response: Also check out CF's graphic about suspended NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who shot himself in a club and who is serving a two-year sentence for criminal possession of a handgun. I've never heard of Mr. West before today. The NRA (of which several of my relatives are members) has been conspicuously silent about both Mr. Burress and Mr. West and these gun control laws.
