Van Jones Gets The Boot: Bookerista Roundup

OK, so he technically "resigned" (with the White House releasing its statement at midnight, in order to limit the damage as much as possible), but the Obama administration's adviser / green czar with the avowed communist background is no longer officially part of the Obama administration. Besides the 9/11 "Truther" history, there was a growing spotlight on Mr. Jones' racial comments: white kids & Columbine, white polluters allegedly killing black folks, etc. Plus, the CD featuring Mumia Abu-Jamal. This could've become a huge row when President Obama can least afford a Rev. Jeremiah Wright / Gates-gate type of blowup, given his health care push and significantly declining white support. Hence, why Mr. Jones was shown the door. Of course, Mr. Jones' exit is a very hot topic among black conservatives and black moderates:

"Don't Let The Door Hit Ya On The Way Out"

Doug Bonner, a conservative member of the Constitution Party in Kirkland, Wa.: "It looks like there was simply TOO MUCH heat, and Van Jones was forced out of his radical, racists [sic] kitchen."

Tasha Brevard, a conservative, writes on Facebook: "Van Jones resign[s]! Yes! He is a communist and we don't need people like that in office to represent the America [sic]."

Afrocity Brown, a moderate-conservative Republican, writes on Facebook
: "This is good news. This man was a disgrace to American people. I have no tolerance for 9/11 deniers."

Cobb, a moderate-conservative Republican blogger in California writes: " OK, so maybe Dvorak was halfway wrong about the President's CTO, but I've seen about 7 minutes of Van Jones video, some of which is Congressional testimony and I'm thinking that Obama must really believe that older people are incorrigible and unforgivably stupid. But maybe I'm thinking the wrong way about how czarist political sausage is made. Maybe you hire smart young people who haven't built anything to be the mouthpieces of the office of the President. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around, that you got the most experienced people you can to advice the White House on how things really work and then reality-based policy moves from there. Nope. That's not the Obama way. He gets young Turks. Well, this turkey is out on his can. Let him fast talk someplace else."

Carl Gray, a conservative, writes on Twitter: "I love my people...But Van Jones did not need to be in charge of anything. That's not progress".

Javier David, a conservative in New York, writes on Facebook
: "Good riddance. This guy was bad news from the start, and is a reflection of Obama's abysmal judgment."

Ryan Hinton, centrist, writes on Facebook
: "Wow. That was quick. The Obama administration are a bunch of wussies."

Dywan Washington, a conservative Republican in Tampa, Fla., writes on Facebook: "GREAT POLITICAL NEWS ALL WEEK VAN MARXIST JONES RESIGNS".

"Van, Cut The Victimology"

Kiara Ashanti, a conservative in Orlando, Fla. slams the tone of Mr. Jones' (pictured) resignation
: "Aww, poor little Vann [sic]. We're smearing you because you call all whites racists, and believe the Bush Adm. attacked our own country. We're smearing you by showing your own words in video and audio. We must have put the words into your mouth. Tsk Tsk How mean of us. And how valiant of you to move on so selflessly, because you came to Washington to fight for others. I'm so moved by your integrity, I'm running to the toilet to throw-up."

Jennifer Burke, a conservative, writes on Facebook
: "I love how he and the White House are attempting to spin the resignation by saying the flap is over 'past statements' and that opponents of health care reform were conducting a smear campaign against him to divert attention away from health care reform. Never mind that you can't really call it a smear campaign when the truth was simply being reported and at issue was m[or]e than 'past statements', but rather his core beliefs revealed in past stat[e]ments and writings."

Laurencia DuSantos, a conservative, writes on Facebook: "Smear campaign? Whatever. He cannot deny his past. Whichever way they spin this story, this is good for America!"

Politik Ditto, a conservative Democratic blogger in New York, opines: "No, it wasn't a 'smear campaign', it was something we conservatives like to refer to as facts. Van Jones is a communist, 9/11 Truther, radical left-wing crackpot and certified Bush-hater. Jones resigned because the truth caught up to him and Barack Obama embarrassed himself and this country by giving this far-Left loon a cabinet post within his administration [BR note: Mr. Jones was a special adviser and not a Cabinet member]. And what with all the other corrupt figures in the Obama administration, a health care reform package that sees no signs of passing and approval ratings now dipping into the 40's, hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Barack Obama."

"One Down, Many More Radicals To Go"

Mike Barnett, a conservative in Boca Raton, Fla., writes on Facebook: "Van Jones gone -- hopefully next to go: Mark Lloyd, Cass Sunstein, Valerie Jarrett, David Axelrod, and the rest of Obama's egghead commie politburo."

DarkKnight, a conservative Republican, writes on Twitter
: "The pick of czar who serve without confirmation with great power says much more about a prez than a cabinet secretary". He adds, "Czar reform should be on the table. Too much power in unaccountable hands."

Dena Leichnitz, a conservative Republican in Los Angeles, Calif., writes on Facebook: "Van Jones is gone! Woo hoo! Way to go my conservative mates! Now it is time to bring the rest of his unconstitutional czars down baby!"

Torrey Spears, a conservative Republican in Myakka City, Fla., writes on Facebook
: "So, the best part about Van Jones being out as Green Jobs Czar at the White House: We get to see the next racist Communist radical from BHO's past to get a cushy White House job! Congratulations, Barry."

Darmon Thornton, a libertarian-conservative in Las Vegas, Nev., writes on Facebook
: "Remember, there are still 31 more czars to confront. Van Jones was just the tip of the iceberg."

"The White House's Timing Of The News...."

Keisha Ferguson Thomas, a conservative, writes on Facebook: "I just heard about this.....now tell me why did this coward resign late Saturday night.....ooo-ooo-ooo....I know I know....so the media will not let the public know anything else about him and ask questions as to how this dude was an advis[e]r......this is classic!"

"The Mainstream Media (Except FOX) Was MIA On This One"

African American Conservatives writes on Twitter: "MSM: Van Jones resigns. MSM Followers: Who's Van Jones?"

Jill Upson, a conservative in West Virginia, writes on Twitter: "The Van Jones story proves once again how irrelevant the mainstream media has become. Ignoring it does not stop people from caring about it." She adds, "The MSM can go back to doing Levi Johnston interviews. The bloggers will cover the real news."

Adrienne Ross, a conservative in New York, writes on Twitter: "Just got home from church & heard about Van Jones. Let's pray 4 Glenn Beck. No doubt, the heat is going 2 be turned up".

Theblackcommenter, a conservative blogger, argues that the mainstream media was out to lunch:
: "Van Jones resignation is the result of the hard work of internet entrepreneurs who are reviving the authentic free press in this nation. Keep up the good work and let’s not stop. There are a few more racist, communist, half baked loons we’d like to see unemployed."

"I'm Side-Eyeing How Van Jones Got In The White House In The First Place"

James Davermann, a conservative Republican in New York: "What kind of an idiot picks a Communist, Truther, cop killer supporter, with a history of racially divisive comments for a high level position within the White House? Better yet, what kind of an idiot becomes a Commie AFTER the Russians practically flushed it down the toilet as an ideology?"

Stephanie Davis, a conservative Republican in Boston, Mass., writes on Twitter: "Did V. Jones jump - or was he pushed. If the latter, then by whom?"

Demetrius Minor, a conservative Republican college student in August, Ga., writes on Twitter
: "Van Jones resigns! Should've never been appointed in the first place. Please don't me fired up at 7:14 in the morning!" He adds, "Van Jones really hurts Obama's credibility. This will only reiterate the frustration with Wright and Ayers."

Bob Parks, a conservative Republican blogger in Virginia, opines: "I’ll say one thing for the Obama Administration: their personnel vetting process is for s__t. After several potential candidates for positions had to take a pass after questionable activities stained their pasts and proved embarrassing, you’d think the White House would do thorough background investigations using all the resources of the office. We used YouTube, and Van Jones is history."

D. Williams, a conservative Republican in Orlando, Fla., writes on Twitter: "Birds of a feather flock together, right? Van Jones and the President are like-minded people."

"OK, He's Gone, Y'all Conservatives Get Over It & Move On"

Sophia Nelson, a moderate Republican pundit
: "Okay so Van Jones resigned -- it took me days to catch up on this -- it is a good thing although he should have been fired by POTUS. His signing of the 9-11 petition was the straw that broke the Camel's back. Yet, many would rather focus on his so-called radical background -- get over it -- he is gone."

"It Is What It Is...Politics"

Kevin Ross, a moderate Republican pundit who met Mr. Jones earlier this year at the State of the Black Union, writes on Twitter: "#Politics is a contact sport. Color of Change caused 57 co's to stop advertising on #GlennBeck. Pushback was inevitable! Sorry #VanJones." He continues: "Can you be a #Republican & be unhappy with how #vanjones was essentially swiftboated? Can you be #Democrat and like #glennbeck?"

I think they were stupid for letting this guy go.

I am very glad he resigned. Would have thought that he had some possibility of being rehabilitated if he had simply "manned up" and had said "This what I said or signed or rapped, etc; this is how I think now; and because of the focus away from the President's message...I am resigning." I would have respected the man who did that. But unfortunately, he was not the brother who has earned that amount of respect.
