I Guess Desiree Rogers Has A(nother) Black Haters Club...

Hat tip to reader Nanakwame for the heads up about this video. Damn, did White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers steal April Ryan's man? Not invite her to the White House holiday party? Things got pretty testy between Ms. Ryan, who works for American Urban Radio Networks, and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. The discussion was over whether Ms. Rogers shares any blame for the party crashers who breached security at the White House state dinner. LMAO when Ms. Ryan tells Mr. Gibbs, who is frustrated with her barrage of questions and says her excitedness reminds him of his young son: "Don't play with me!":



I agree with Ms. Ryan that Ms. Rogers tries to upstage U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama too much and needs to fall back. She also promotes herself too much, when she should shine via successful White House events. However, something else is going on here. The questions weren't just about why Ms. Rogers didn't have a staffer at the checkpoint with the invite list along with the Secret Service, but about Ms. Rogers as a person. I think Ms. Ryan is envious of the beautiful and glamorous Ms. Rogers, and thus the venom behind her questions. Nevertheless, Mr. Gibbs was wrong to compare Ms. Ryan to his pre-adolescent son. That comment an the "calm down" remark gives off a sexist and possibly racist vibe. Ms. Ryan looks like she wanted to do a smackdown on Mr. Gibbs, but for the cameras LOL.

Mr. Grey Ghost, a conservative Democratic blogger in New York City sees the testy exchange as indicative of the Obama White House's relationship with blacks: "Frustrated by April Ryan's continuous questioning concerning White House social secretary Desiree Rogers' role at the recent state dinner that was crashed by two reality-TV stars, Robert Gibbs instructed her to 'calm down' and to 'take a deep breath,' adding 'I do this with my son and that's what happens.' Woah! Listen too for the collective groan by the press corps upon Gibbs' disrespectful remarks. Need more proof about the Obama administration's contempt for Black people?"
