Kenneth McClenton: "'No Trespassing': A Law That Must Be Disobeyed To Reach The Urban Conservative"

29% of black Americans self-identify as conservative...
The member of the American Conservative Party in Washington, D.C., opines: "In the world of politics, I often wonder why leaders in some political parties have not pursued the conservative Afro-American community as little boy] Martin pursued Peyton Manning. I am no great theoretician however, from my readings, I have discerned that Afro-Americans [that's Black Non-Hispanic to the hip liberal Census crowd] are truly more conservative than their Caucasian [that's White now, ya hear] ilk. Statistics show over and over again that Afro-Americans are truly a religious people whether in the city or out in the country. Pew reports that members of Baptist churches account for one-third of all Protestants and close to one-fifth of the total U.S. adult population. Baptists also account for nearly two-thirds of members of historically black Protestant churches. Nearly 90% of Afro-Americans believe in God compared to 70% of the US population and over 50% attend weekly services compared to the US population."

He continues: "It is not a shock that the more likely a person believes in God the more likely he is conservative on political, social and fiscal issues. In a 2009 Gallup Ideological Identification of Major US Racial and Ethnic Groups only Asians are distinct from the other racial and ethnic groups in their ideological orientation. Asians are the most likely to identify themselves as politically liberal. In that poll, even in urban areas, the conservatives in each race account for 42% of non-Hispanic whites, 34% of Hispanics and 29% of non-Hispanic Blacks. Among Republicans today, conservatives are more likely to be Protestant, much more likely to be religious, and are, on average, older than moderate/liberal Republicans. They also consist more heavily of men, whites, and those living in the South -- but the differences here are not as pronounced. To my Hispanic and non-Hispanic Black brethren, which group is seen most often in church: our elders [I define as over 40.] In that voter turnout is generally much greater among middle-aged and older..., it is likely that conservative (and religious) Republicans have had an even greater voice in Republican Party primaries this year than their numbers suggest. Hence, knowing all of this, why isn't the GOP or any other Conservative group knocking down the doors of Urban Black America. I believe it is because they believe the Myth of the No Trespass Sign."

But only 8% are Republicans or Republican-leaning independents
More: "The Myth of the No Trespass Sign begins with the idea that Afro-Americans are born with 48 chromosomes unlike all other[s'] 46 chromosomes. Our extra pair carry the genes liberal and Democrat. Hence, we are born Democrats and must die as a Democrat. In addition, the gene kicks in only in the voting booth. We may espouse conservative principles (low taxes, work for what you want, etc) but once we are in a darkened poll, we must choose the most liberal, dysfunctional politician or the one that gave us our first summer job to represent us. In fact, this gene is so effective that 80% - 95% of Afro-Americans in any one election will vote for a liberal Democrat. We will drive, no less upon a faux paved way, pass an empty shopping center, 2 or 3 crack houses to vote in a malfunctioned, dilapidated school for a candidate that constantly promises spare change and hopelessness. Our reason: he or she has never let us down. The Myth roars out to alternative thinkers and voices that their efforts are futile. Such party leaders believe that Blacks knowingly choose their candidates through elaborate vetting means. The Myth encourages champions of conservative posturing to back down because black voters are fully aware of the character of the men and women that they place in office. Like all Americans the political process has been taught poorly and highjacked by fear and faux racial identity."

Mr. McClenton continues his commentary: "Hence, for organizations like the American Conservative Party it is time to reach Black America through dialogue at the kitchen table and in the pews. The principles of conservatism rather promoted by Russell Kirk, Ronald Reagan or Thomas Sowell will outlast any debate lathered in false racial epithets, fallacies of political history and fear of social identity. Likewise, in the words of the great Negro President, Barack Obama, it is time now for such conservative groups to pursue the ultimate prize: the thoughts and hearts of the rest of America. How many barriers are you willing to cross to preach a truth built on fact and not fiction? Republicans have accepted the 'No Trespass' Sign because bi-party politics and gamesmanship allowed such foolishness. However, today, the US Constitution is at risk. We need all hands on deck to carry forth the conservative cause and to vanquish the slothful occupiers of Urban American: the Democrat Party. There is no greater special interest than the US Constitution. It is worthy to hurdle the Myth, to slide through the status quo and open the door to freedom, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all people."
