As you may know, the Guinean woman accusing former IMF chief and possible French presidential candidate Dominique Strauss-Kahn of rape has outed herself. DSK's lawyers are crying foul about her media interviews. Bookeristas weigh in about Nafissatou Diallo:
France: Neoafricain:"La Victime Aux Deux Visages (Double-Sided Victim)!"
The conservative blogger in France argues that Nafissatou Diallo deserves her day in court: "Since that famous date of May 14, 2011, each of us has imagined the young Guinean's face. For some, she is a liar who falsified her record and has gone rogue as some profiteer who found a good way to entrap a wealthy man in order to solicit money. Others envisioned a poor young African immigrant who works hard to raise her daughter alone far from her native land, who was abused by a rich and powerful pervert."
He continues his commentary: "We now have the true face of this young woman. A young Fulani, rather coquettish in her appearance, describing in stark terms the rape she claims to have suffered. By appearing voluntarily before the court and media, her lawyers have assumed that they can handle the inconsistencies in interviews. And we know just how brilliant lawyers and communications experts are for the Socialist tenor [DSK]."
USA: Samuel Gonzalez: "Diallo Ain't Nothing But A Scammer"
Asserts the conservative Republican blogger in New York City: "This reason this con artist/maid/hooker is going on a media offensive is she and her lawyer are trying to put pressure on DSK to settle for some cash to go away. Make no mistake, it’s all about cash!"
