| MP Killion Munyama |
From The Nation (Kenya), about Poland's newest black center-right parliamentarian: "A Zambian-descendant newly-elected Polish legislator says he will use his 'capabilities' to enhance economic ties between Europe and Africa. Mr Killion Munyama, the second black man of African descent to be elected to Parliament in Poland after Nigerian-born John Godson, said the presence of Poland in most African countries was so little and vice versa. 'I want to try and use the capabilities that I will have to encourage relationship between Poland and Zambia, and Africa in general,' said 50-year old Munyama, voted into office in the October 9 parliamentary elections."
More about the former academic: "'I want to be in the foreign affairs committee in the Polish Parliament whereby I would like to emphasis on how important African countries are not only to Poland but also to the European Union,' Dr Munyama told Zambia’s The Post newspaper. Born in southern Zambia of native parents, he relocated to Poland in 1981 to study economics and has been living there for three decades."
