I've never heard of the song before last week, but it caught my attention. While "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" is considered a jump blues cut, you can hear the incoming rock & roll sound that would become so popular some years later. "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" was a #1 hit on the R&B chart (then known as the Race Records chart) for 18 weeks, a feat only equally by Joe Liggins' "The Honeydripper". The song was a crossover smash, hitting #7 on the pop chart as well.
