Black Woman Helps Canada Get Its 1st 2012 Olympics Medal

Dang, black folks are on the come up in the pool, huh? From the Toronto Star (Canada): "Canada has its first medal of the London Olympics. Divers Emilie Heymans and Jennifer Abel have claimed bronze in the women’s three-metre synchronized event."

More about the event: "World champions Minxia Wu and He Zi of China won gold Sunday with an overall score of 346.20 while Americans Kelci Bryant and Abigail Johnston captured silver with 321.90. Heymans and Abel recorded 316.80 points."

Some background about Ms. Abel: She's from Laval, Quebec. She's 20 years old. She and Ms. Heymans got silver at last year's world championships. She made her Olympic debut in 2008.
