Do You Know Someone Who Needs Money For College?

Orane Douglas: Gates scholar & Duke science major
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program may be right up their alley. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation each year awards scholarships to 1,000 black, Native American, Asian, and Hispanic students who enroll full-time in a two-year or four-year college or university.

The scholarship is renewable and may be used in the freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate years. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, and have financial need such that they meet Pell Grant eligibility requirements. They must also maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0, and have a strong interest in leadership and community service.

The application process for the 2013 awards is now open. Applications must be submitted online, and are due by 11:59pm ET on January 16, 2013. Click here for more information.
