| Rep. Paul Ryan |
Asserts the libertarian-conservative blogger, in response to Democratic claims about the conservative Republican veep candidate: "
The Ryan budget would take 25 years to reduce federal debt's percentage of GDP to 10 percent. Ryan's plan would take just as long to reduce the public-sector share of GDP from 25 percent to about 18 percent. In order to get his budget through the House, Rep. Ryan did something Barack Obama has proven incapable of doing. Ryan worked Democrats to change his bill. Radical? Hardly."
Booker Rising response: Yes, $500 billion a year in spending cuts for a country with a $3.8 trillion federal budget and our debt level is minimal. Rep. Ryan's budget proposal doesn't go far enough.
America needs a minimum of $1.5 trillion of spending cuts per year over the next decade in order stay to seriously reduce America's $16 trillion in debt. Anything less, and politicians just aren't serious about our future.
