Yes, Africa. I'm tired of people stating that African territory is part of the Middle East. Anyway, I see that Arab Muslims are up in arms (yet again) over some anti-Mohammad movie done by some Israeli-born Jew living in California, whom the Arab Muslims say was assisted by a few U.S.-based Egyptian Coptic Christians and infamous American conservative pastor Terry Jones. Why is it that so many Arab Muslims just aren't sophisticated enough to handle dissent, like other groups do? It's a definite defect in their cultures. Look at how often Christianity, Judaism, atheism, etc. get mocked and/or criticized, and yet people know how to peacefully make their displeasure known.
After the attacks in Libya (where U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and some staffers were murdered) and Egypt, we first had the Obama administration go the apologist route instead of standing up for the American value of free speech. After getting rightfully slammed for this position, it then backtracked. It is now investigating whether the "impromptu" mobs were in fact coordinated terrorist attacks. It should also explain whose bright idea was it to have Arab Muslim "security forces" guarding U.S. embassies? Especially on the 9/11 anniversary?! That was predictably a major disaster. Heads should be rolling over this hot mess, because what happened is tantamount to an act of war. Bookeristas on two continents have opinions:
Rep. Allen West: "I Condemn The Attack On Our Sovereign Soil By Barbaric, Radical Muslims"
The conservative Republican Congressman from Florida has put out a statement about the embassy attacks: "'Less than 24 hours after our nation remembered the heinous attacks of September 11, 2001, Americans find their sovereign soil attacked again as more American lives are lost at the hands of intolerant, barbaric, radical Muslims. United States Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and several embassy staff were murdered late yesterday when suspected religious extremists stormed the United States Consulate in Benghazi. This morning, my condolences and prayers go out to the families of the victims."
He continues his commentary: "Americans need to question whether the deaths of these innocent patriots could have been avoided. The Obama Administration touted the Arab Spring as an awakening of freedom, which we now see is a nightmare of Islamism."
John Hope Bryant: "Heartache For The Loss Of Life In Libya"
The centrist founder of Operation HOPE, a Los Angeles-based financial literacy organization, writes: "There are no words that describe my sadness, as one of God's children who feels connected to the people of Libya and the Middle East, as I do people here and around the world. I see myself as a global citizen, and thus, things like this impact me personally. I fee[l] the pain as an advisor to our President, President Barack Obama and the Obama Administration, for the U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability, knowing how much good we -- and the President -- are genuinely trying to do here and around the world."
He continues: "I feel pain as founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE, having committed my life to making the world a better place, and having just returned launching a partnership office in the region that holds, and continues to hold, so much promise for the region. I refuse to give up, and I will recommit and redouble our efforts to help and to have an impact, but in this moment I just feel the pain for this family, and for a sense of hope dashed for the moment in Libya."
Neoafricain: "Ambassades Americaines Attaquees. Obama Pera Tout Controle!"
The French conservative blogger argues that the attacks are another example of the Obama administration's failure to protect USA (original op-ed in French): "Obama's so-called beautiful speech in Cairo and naively thinking that his supposed charisma or having received the Nobel Prize 'not for his achievements, but what could be done in the future,' all this has had no effect on Islamist terrorism!"
More: "While I maintain my line for support to movements that seek to free themselves of tyranny, I have always advocated that they be accompanied by an extremely strong security policy. In short, it was important to do everything possible to drive Gaddafi from power, but also to ensure that terrorists of all stripes don't replace the fallen cholera plague either. But for this, you need the right words, the right attitudes and especially know how to take the right steps to terrorists. And the only language they understand is that of force."
Harold A. Black: "Why Hasn't Hillary Clinton Resigned?"
The conservative retired professor in Tennessee argues that USA's chief diplomat should take responsibility for the first U.S. ambassador being killed in 30 years due to lack security: "This shocking lack of security to me is an impeachable offense. No not of the president but of the secretary of state who continues to exhibit incompetency. These episodes mean that Hillary Clinton must go. If she does not resign then the [S]enate should immediately move to impeach her. Yes I know poor old pitiful Harry Reid won't do it but at least the {R]epublicans should have the testosterone to recommend it. Impeach Hillary!"
African American Conservatives: "Why Is It That Liberals Only Defend Religion When Islamic Terrorism Is Involved?"
The conservative group tweets in response to many liberals' reaction defending Muslim concerns about the movie: "Burn a Koran and the Left wants you arrested. Put a cross in a cup of urine and the Left wants to give you a taxpayer subsidized art grant."
AACONS adds on its Twitter feed: "The Left obviously wants a law banning Americans from hurting the religious feelings of non-Christians."
