The consensus bookerista view (like the views of political observers, across party lines) is that Mitt Romney won last night's debate. Bookeristas have plenty to say about the debate:
"Romney Looked Way More Presidential. Without His Teleprompter & Biased Media Base To Run Interference For Him, Obama Was Exposed As The Fraud That He Is"
Kenneth Durden, a libertarian-conservative blogger who supports Mitt Romney, writes: "Romney came off as informed, intelligent and
personable. President Obama seemed uncomfortable from the start. The suit was(is) empty. Tired, lame neo-soc nonsense."
Asserts Samuel Gonzalez, a conservative Republican blogger in New York who supports Mitt Romney: "What happened [last night] was that President Obama got exposed for the fraud
he’s always been. He didn’t have his trusty teleprompter nor his
fawning corrupt American media to carry his water and distort the truth.
Mano a mano Mitt Romney looked, acted and sounded more presidential.
Obama was reduced to a grease spot on the floor."
Mr. Grey Ghost, conservative Democrat in New York who supports Mitt Romney, opines: "The [former] Governor
was more prepared, feisty and looked way more presidential. On the other
hand Barry not looked like he didn't want to be there, but totally out
of place without his teleprompter, much less surrounded by a liberal,
lapdog media that literally grovels at his feet. Bottom line, Mitt
dominated the issues, niftly fought off Obama's lies on Obamacare and
the economy and showed Americans why he's the man they should elect as
POTUS [President of the United States] come November. Really now, when even Bill Maher gives Romney the checkmate and Chris 'Tingles' Matthews has an epic meltdown over The One's horrible performance, if you're a far-Left Obama stan you might be worrying a little bit after this one..."
"What Was Up With Obama's Body Language?"
Michelle Bernard, a centrist commentator in D.C. metro who supports President Obama, tweets: "Is the split screen driving anyone else nuts? Romney stares at POTUS and POTUS looks down. Ughh! Talk to the American public!"
Rev. James Manning, a conservative Republican in New York who supports Mitt Romney, tweets about last night's debate: "It's getting worse, Romney is out thinking and explaining and he is getting under Obama's skin. Hey Obama look up..."
"Obama Should Sent His Wife To Debate Romney. She'd Have Done A Better Job"
Sandra Rose, a conservative blogger in Georgia who opposes both President Obama and Mitt Romney, comments on last night's debate: "President Obama was on the ropes all evening as he struggled to stay on the defensive. It was embarrassing for the Obama camp. Maybe Michelle Obama should taken her husband’s place at the podium?"
"Y'all, Romney's Performance Wasn't All That. Stop The Low Expectations"
Chidike Okeem, a Nigerian-British conservative living in California who likes neither President Obama nor Mitt Romney, writes about last night's debate: "Romney had no one-liners that would keep people remembering both the line and the point
the next morning. Additionally, I don’t think Romney’s insistence on
getting the last word at every point during the debate looked
presidential. He looked small and petty. The saddest thing about that is
even when Romney would forcefully take the last word, his rebuttals
weren’t ever hit out of the park. The only superb thing about Romney’s
debate performance was his closing statement."
