The last debate focused on foreign policy. Bookeristas weigh in regarding who had the upper hand:
Carol M. Swain: "Romney Won By Being Presidential, While Obama Was Petty & Child-Like"
That's the assessment of the law/political science professor at Vanderbilt University, who is a conservative. From OneNewsNow: "'His closing statement was so powerful,' Swain offers in
reference to Romney. 'And after listening to President Obama's
pettiness and him just coming across so un-presidential, it was a
sharp contrast -- and....almost the same contrast that you saw
between [Paul] Ryan and [Vice President Joe] Biden: one person, you
know, being very differential and serious, and then the other
behaving like a school child.' Swain doubts the debate was a game-changer, leaving Romney with
the momentum he built over the past several weeks."
Chidike Okeem: "Obama Soundly Defeated Romney"
Asserts the Nigerian-British conservative blogger, who lives in California: "As I have repeatedly said on this blog, Romney has very mediocre
debating skills. He has shown after three debates that his best is only
good enough to marginally defeat Obama when Obama happens to be visibly
melancholic about having to debate on his 20th wedding
anniversary evening. The other two times that Obama and Romney met after
that night, Obama took Mitt Romney to pieces. At the third debate,
Obama exposed Romney as a flip-flopping fraud, and made him look silly
at several points during the debate. Romney got in some decent points,
but, overall, he paled in comparison to Obama."
Deroy Murdock: "Romney Won By Being Calm & Competent Against An Unsteady Obama"
Asserts the libertarian-conservative Republican commentator and Romney supporter in New York: "Relaxed, reasonable, and reassuring. Those three words summarize Governor Mitt Romney’s performance in Monday night’s third and final presidential debate. Romney wisely took repeated opportunities to transform a
global-affairs debate into a discussion on the U.S. economy. Message: no
economy, no power. Romney explained this with a cogent blend of
arguments and facts."
Jim Collier: "Obama Won By Being Credible"
The moderate blogger and Obama supporter in California writes about last night's event: "The President expanded the ring [from the previous presidential debates] by his quickness and polite obstructionism. Obama, regardless of his words, seemed to repeatedly
communicate, 'with all due respect (which is none), my esteemed
challenger is a flip-flopping, lying, sack of sh_t - and believe me, I
know one when I see him'. O-man came off very credible."
Kenneth Durden: "Romney Won By Being More Presidential"
Asserts the libertarian-conservative blogger and Romney supporter, about last night's debate in Florida: "Obama was on the attack, at times small and petty, at times
condescending, at times rude, at times downright dishonest, at all times
arrogant. Romney tried to appear above it all, playing defense. Romney
tried to appear presidential, and he succeeded at that. In fact, Romney
looked more presidential than Obama. Romney seemed to forget that people
rarely win playing defense, but sometimes a smart defense is just what
is needed."
Ryan Frazier: "Both Men Did Well, But Romney Gets The Edge"
Asserts the libertarian-conservative Republican politico and Romney supporter in Colorado. From 9News.com (Colorado): "They both did very well last night. They both showed presidential
qualities and the capability of being commander in chief. I thought
Romney elevated himself last night with his presence and vision for the
top of American leadership that sets a policy in this dangerous world
through peace and strength,' Frazier said."
