From The Hill, about the conservative Republican businessman's accusation: "Former GOP presidential contender Herman Cain accused President Obama
on Wednesday of carrying out a campaign of 'character assassination'
against GOP nominee Mitt Romney. 'It is clear that President Obama can't run on his economic record,
can't run on his foreign-policy record. This Benghazi cover-up is all
over most of the news, so he is doing the basic character
assassination,' said Cain, a Romney supporter, on 'Fox and Friends.'"
More: "Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, blamed the 'liberal media'
for using accusations of racial discrimination to slander Obama's
critics. 'Now they're getting into name-calling. Now, he [Obama] may not do it
directly, but the surrogate liberal media, they're doing the name
calling....playing the race card. I saw a clip that Chris Matthews did,
where he said that people who were criticizing President Obama shows
outright hated of President Obama,' Cain said."
