The conservative Republican Congressman ain't messing around with his re-election bid, in one of the country's most contested districts. From TCPalm.com (Florida): "U.S.
Rep. Allen West hauled in $2 million in the first half of October, while his Democratic challenger
Patrick Murphy collected $320,300 during the homestretch of Congress's priciest contest. West's two-and-a-half-week fundraising sprint padded his totals to
about $17 million, trailing only Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and
former presidential hopeful U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for the
biggest campaign account in the U.S. House. Murphy, one of the
country's best-equipped Democratic challengers, has amassed $3.6
million."
