Here are the Top 10 countries represented among Booker Rising's readers. Note that the U.S. makes up 75.7% of my readership:
1. United States
2. United Kingdom (Britain)
3. Germany
4. France
5. Ukraine
6. China
7. Russia
8. Canada
9. South Africa
10. Australia
I've never quite been able to explain it, but the Ukraine has ranked relatively high on my Top 10 readership list for years. I've even received emails from Ukrainian readers praising my blog. My blog used to be banned in China. Perhaps they didn't like some of the posts criticizing China's growing role on the African continent? It's good to see at least one African country on the list. A nice number of South Africans follow the blog's Twitter page.
I guess Booker Rising is no
longer banned in China, unless my Chinese readers are using techniques
to circumvent censors. The blog was also banned (and may still be banned) in Ethiopia and Sudan, according to readers who tried to access my blog in these countries. Ethiopian-American bookeristas used to regularly slam Ethiopia's government, and my blog was one of the few American blogs covering their commentaries. I'm sure my personal views on Sudan's racial jihad against its black population — before South Sudan became its own country — didn't win any friends in the Sudanese government. However, I did receive emails from some Sudanese folks thanking me for those posts.
