| Ghanaian President John Mahama |
More: "The President added 'let me remind them that I am President already, I have been President since July this year [after President John Atta Mills' death], I am already President of the [R]epublic of Ghana and if it was my intention to create any problem I would have had enough time to create it. 'Just ignore them, they are mongers of fear and panic and because they know they are going to lose the election that is their last resort'."
Ghana's Center-Right Responds
"Facts", a poster on GhanaWeb, writes: "The fact is when the wicked and violent gets power and authority all are griped by fear except their likes. The [center-left party] NDC of Rawlings is more tribalistic than any other party. Rawlings taught the NDC to divide the north and the south; then the [V]olta region from the [A]shanti region; [E]wes against [A]kans etc."
"Paulo" writes: "President Mahama, tell the people what you can do to improve their standard of living. This kind of tribal politics will not win the elections for you. You, as incumbent President, should be above tribal politics. If you have nothing good to tell the people, the least you can do is to refrain from fanning the embers of tribalism, please."
