The conservative Republican businessman in Georgia argues that if they did, more conservatives would've voted in 2012 than they did in 2008: "Here are a few facts that obviously don't matter to liberals and those conservatives who did not vote: The economy will continue to decline and another recession with negative growth is very likely. The unemployment rate (whichever calculation you use) will go back up
and stay up, meaning that millions more will be unemployed or
underemployed. A lot of medium- to small-size businesses will downsize or shut their
doors altogether."
Booker Rising response: A key reason why fewer Republicans and conservatives turned out for Mitt Romney than for Sen. John McCain, because Mr. Romney is Mormon. His Mormonism probably cost him at least a million votes in the South alone, as many evangelical Christians consider it a cult posing as a Christian sect. I know several socially conservative individuals who didn't vote for Romney, just for religious reasons alone. Then add Mr. Romney's constantly-changing ideological core, which turned off at least another million fiscally conservative folks (such as myself) and led us to either vote for the Libertarian Party's Gary Johnson (as I did) or stay home. Perhaps the Republican Party should select a better presidential nominee next time?
