Asserts the libertarian-conservative blogger: "People once migrated across the country for jobs. Today, it happens but
to far less an extent. It seems that people are more likely to come to
this country than natives are to move. Immigrants take risks. They do
not use the excuses. At least that used to be the case. Now, nearly 60%
of immigrants [with children] receive some sort of federal welfare."
He adds: "So, the welfare state's cost goes beyond dollars and cents. The welfare
state costs us in work ethic. It costs us when young people don't see their parents and grow up hopeless and dependent. It exacerbates our immigration problem. The permanency of the modern underclass is a factor of the federal government's welfare state."
