From Deseret News (Utah), about the conservative Republican politico's narrow electoral loss: "Republican Mia Love broke her silence Monday, saying she was 'absolutely' surprised to lose her bid for Utah's new 4th Congressional
District seat last week. But she said the race against Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson isn't over. 'It was a hard fight. We have to wait. There's still
quite a few ballots out there. We want to make sure every ballot is
counted,' she said. Matheson won last Tuesday's election by less than
3,000 votes. But more than 64,000 provisional, mail-in and paper ballots
have yet to be added to the candidates' totals. That will happen next
week when the counties certify election results."
More: "Love said there were some things her campaign failed to recognize. 'We weren't keeping our eyes on the third-party candidate that was out there,' she said. Libertarian Jim Vein won 2.6 percent of the vote. He
received about twice as many votes as the difference between Matheson
and Love."
