Rep. Allen West Loses?

Rep. West: "It ain't over yet"
As of 4:13am ET, he hadn't conceded due to the tightness of the race. From The Hill, about the conservative Republican Congressman from Florida: "Freshman Republican Rep. Allen West (Fla.) is locked in a tight race with Democrat Patrick Murphy as the two competed in one of the nastiest races in the nation, according to MSNBC election projections."

The article continues about Rep. West: "West, despite out-raising Murphy 5-to-1, trailed by less than 3,000 with 100 percent of Florida's 18th District reporting, according to MSNBC. West, a Tea Party favorite, has not conceded, and it is unclear whether there will be a recount. Florida law requires a recount if the margin is 0.5 percent or less of votes cast."

UPDATE: Rep. Allen West refuses to concede, because of the 0.8 percent vote margin. Here is a statement from the "Go West" campaign. The full statement also calls for a full ballot recount in St. Lucie County due to irregularities, arguing that it will pursue legal means if necessary: "This race is far from decided and there is no rush to declare an outcome. Ensuring a fair and accurate counting of all ballots is of the utmost importance. There are still tens of thousands of absentee ballots to be counted in Palm Beach County and potential provisional ballots across the district."
