Ghanaian Entertainers: "Our Industry Should Support The Center-Right In Next Week's Presidential Election"

From Joy Online: "A group calling itself Creative Arts for Change made up of hi-life sensation Kwabena Kwabena, music producer Mark Okraku Mantey and many others have pledged their unflinching support for the NPP presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo."

Why are these celebrities coming out in support for the center-right candidate? "The movie producer [Socrates Sarfo] said under an Akufo-Addo presidency the much anticipated Ministry for Culture and Creative Arts and a multipurpose theater in Kumasi will come into fruition. He bemoaned the current state of the creative art industry attributing it to government’s lackadaisical attitude towards the industry. The showbiz critic believes the only way people in the entertainment industry can enjoy the fruits of their labour is through a well formulated policy to prevent piracy — which according to him will only happen under an Akufo-Addo led government."
