RNC Member Slams J.C. Watts Candidacy

Glenn McCall
From The Daily Caller: "'Having a person of color at the helm is not a silver bullet to increasing diversity in our party; we have been there and done that,' Glenn McCall of South Carolina said in an email obtained by The Daily Caller that was distributed to the entire committee on Wednesday. McCall’s 'been there and done that' statement refers to the past chairmanship of Michael Steele."

The article continues: "In television appearances, Watts has been critical of [RNC chairman Reince] Priebus and the Republican Party’s outreach to minorities, particularly black voters. But McCall, in his Wednesday email, offered support to Priebus. He also distributed a link to an opinion piece about Watts once claiming he was considering supporting President Obama’s election in 2008. 'Reince, thank you for not being distracted by any potential challengers for chair who are talking about our party not reaching out to nontraditional voters,' he wrote. Said McCall: 'I feel extremely comfortable in saying that our State Parties are doing an outstanding job of working to get our message out in nontraditional communities and are working to recruit solid diverse candidates that believe in our conservative values.'"

Booker Rising response: Did Reince Priebus's camp send this Negro to do a political drive-by on J.C. Watts, with this lying-ass statement? So Michael Steele=J.C. Watts because they share the same race? State Republican parties are "doing an outstanding job" of outreach to black and Hispanic voters? What a load of BS. The GOP isn't even identifying and reaching out to the 21% of black Americans who support limited government. Perhaps Mr. McCall can explain why I received zero contact this past election cycle from the Illinois Republican Party, even though 50%-55% of my primary ballot pulls have been GOP? Meanwhile, I was contacted by the Illinois Democratic Party at least a half dozen times (and this excludes the Obama campaign's additional dozen or so contacts). Where were the boots on the ground to make sure that Mia Love and Rep. Allen West didn't lose their elections by the narrow vote margin that they lost by, like Michael Steele mentioned?
