Center-Rightist: "Ghana Is Being Led By A Loser"

Mike Oquaye ain't happy with center-left rule
That's because the center-right New Patriotic Party is legally challenging the results from last month's presidential election, which center-right President John Mahama won. The party is filibustering ministerial picks as well, because they don't view the ruling center-left government as legitimate. From GhanaWeb: "Former 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye has stated categorically that the outcome of the 2012 general elections doesn’t truly reflect the presidential candidate, Ghanaians voted for. The former legislature described President Mahama’s continual stay in office as ironic; with an explanation that majority of Ghanaian voted for Nana Akufo-Addo to become their president and not the current leader."

The article continues: "On 27th of January, 2013, Professor Mike Oquaye together with some concerned youth assembled at Dome Kwabenya Park to launch the 'Let My Vote Count' campaign to address certain malfeasance that accompanied the 2012 elections. In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM, Professor Mike Oquaye described the program as a success and maintained that it was solely aimed at informing Ghanaians that we are being led by a 'loser.'"

More: "'The Supreme Court needs to hear from all of us citizens who want answers. If the [ruling party] NDC wants to go to court thinking that they can explain why 600,000 more votes or 400,000 votes with no verification, both of which are against the law, then let them try,' he dared."
