From a BAEO news release that was emailed to Booker Rising: "The Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) is excited to partner with Grand Rapids, Michigan pastor and Grammy nominated, Dove, Stellar and BET award winning gospel artist Dr. Marvin L. Sapp for a multi-city tour to promote educational opportunities for Black families. Visiting six cities, the tour will launch on January 30 in Louisville, KY and culminate in the historic Birmingham Alabama on February 6."
Mr. Sapp has opened a charter school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, so the issue is dear to his heart: "Each FREE event, entitled An Evening with Marvin Sapp, will include a community discussion about the status of education for Black students and the options that are available for parents seeking educational opportunities for their children, as well as a special concert by Dr. Sapp. 'As a strong supporter of parental choice I am delighted to join BAEO for a spiritually filled event to benefit the lives of our young people,' said Dr. Sapp. 'I hope that every person in the room is inspired to advocate for educational change, so ultimately, our children can reach their fullest potential.'"
