Paul Kagame: "I've Got No Issue With U.N. Drone Strikes In The Democratic Republic Of Congo"

Asserts the pro-free-trade president of neighboring Rwanda. From IOL News (South Africa): "Rwandan President Paul Kagame says he has no problem with a United Nations plan to use surveillance drones in neighboring [Democratic Republic of] Congo. Kagame told a news conference Monday that if the U.N. thinks the drones will help achieve peace, then 'let them do it.' He added that he doesn't think Rwanda has the power to stop such a U.N. deployment."

More: "Earlier in January, U.N. officials outlined their case to the Security Council for using surveillance drones in Congo but ran into opposition from Rwanda's U.N. ambassador, who expressed reservations. Kagame reiterated denials that Rwanda is helping M23 rebels in Congo, as a U.N. report has accused Rwanda of doing. Kagame also said he thinks an African peacekeeping force deployed to Congo would achieve better results than the U.N. force now there."
