The conservative Republican commentator slams a leftist Democratic effort to create a U.S. Department of Peacebuilding: "Apparently oblivious to the
fact that the impending sequester of $44 billion is about to produce
catastrophes of Biblical proportions, House Democrats, led by Barbara
Lee (D., Ca.), have introduced legislation to create a Department of
Peacebuilding, as Nathaniel noted [here]."
He adds: "H.R. 808 would create a new department (headed by a
cabinet-level secretary) to address, among other things, scaling back
military actions, violence against animals, gun violence, bullying in
schools and diversity and tolerance. Democrats, who evidently didn’t get
Mark Steyn’s memo that we’re The Brokest Nation in History, want the
new department to work on civil rights and labor issues also — matters
already covered in multiple redundancies by other departments and
agencies."
