What Da Hell?!

Ex-con Paul McKinley won the GOP primary for Jesse Jackson Jr.'s old seat
See, this is why I'm glad that I no longer in Illinois' 2nd Congressional District. Redemption is fine, but how does an ex-con beat publisher Eric Wallace (even if it was only be 23 votes) in the Republican primary? In a district that has had two consecutive U.S. Congressmen going to prison (Mel Reynolds) or on the way to prison (Jesse Jackson Jr.) for felonies? While political commentator Lenny McAllister has had some child support troubles, he also would've been a better choice.

Who were the foolish Republicans who voted for this nonsense?! Or is this some Democratic machine shenanigans to help ease the way for former state representative Robin Kelly (who won the Democratic primary, and thus will be the district's next Congresswoman)?

Paul McKinley does (rightfully) rail a lot against Chicago machine politics, corruption, and how President Obama's cronies are screwing poor black folks (even in the pulpit of Obama's old church) so the community activist will make sure that it's an entertaining race up until the April 9 general election.
