New OK House Speaker Acknowledges Outstanding Warrant

From the Associated Press, about the conservative Republican: “Grady County [Oklahoma] court records show an arrest warrant was issued in 2003 for incoming House Speaker T.W. Shannon for failing to pay fines associated with a speeding ticket and for driving under suspension. The Republican from Lawton said Thursday he was never aware there were any outstanding fines and that he immediately took care of the matter after learning about it from reporters. Court records show $290 was paid to the Grady County Court Clerk’s Office on Thursday.”
